The Old Shack

I got a short roll of film in a letter from Gabby an IUOMA member last week. With my film scanner out this week I scanned them in to see what they looked like as a photo as opposed to holding them up against the light. I really like them. I've made up heaps of stories about where it is, who lived there, why it's run down etc etc. Something about it reminds me of The Road by Cormac McCarthy or maybe a Grey Gardens-like story? Anyhow I thought I'd share... any imaginations running wild with tales of this imposing building? Chuck them in a comment below :)

Some of the lovely post I've been seeing lately

This month and a bit has been a little slow for mail... both in and out.
Excitingly I got a postcard on Andy's REALwall (I couldn't resist the 'Like' button, it was supremely appropriate) I joined IUOMA which is a great Mail Art community. I have been overwhelmed by friendly people and cool inspiration.

The BEST Christmas stamp ever from my cousin in the UK... even though Wallace and Gromit gave me nightmares when I was little (that psychopath mute penguin anybody??) I still have a soft spot for the long-suffering Gromit!

Yay it's been a good mail week this week. Some nice surprises! I hope you have all had a good one.
It's been mega hot also, I can feel summer coming to punch me in the face very soon! I really have no idea why I was longing for the heat for so long... clearly Europe made me think that we have mild nice bearable summers here is Aus - I was LYING TO MYSELF!

My friend Amberley is moving house in Melbourne, so she returned all of the Hindi movies I have let her borrow... and a few of her own for me to check out and hold on to while she changes abodes. So no kidding 5 big yellow parcels arrived on my doorstep last week - lucky for her she works for the ABC and just uses their postage paid envelopes the sneaky bugger otherwise it would have cost a fortune!

Penpals with a postcard twist swap #3 - I love this swap and have a done it a couple of times now... I just could not let go of this Avant card advertising a vintage Eames furniture shop.. I'll keep it to remind me of the beautiful furniture I will never be able to afford!
